Hello,
There is a know problem with apt for rpm:
yum can manage i386 and x86_64 rpms on a single system ; it's the
case with the current apt version?
The problem:
For the <pub> next Gralinux* </pub> will have 3 branchs::
i386 embedded systems, for flash memory based devices, running on Via
cpu (Epia etc..)
i686 : 32/64 bits systems
x86_64: Athlon 64, Intel emt
The problem is to know if apt can install x86_64rpms on a i686 system
(of course the CPU is 64 ready :)
or install i686/i363 on x86_64 without problems.
Thanks :)
jean-sebastien.
* www.gralinux.org is Free like beer and ... speech :) the
distribution is made by a non-profit linux user group.
We are using, like Centos, RHAS sources (with some addon stuffs :)
