[Apt-Rpm] help on apt-rpm???

Hi all,
I'd like to know how to install APT-RPM on Linux. I mean, it works, then it
says that configuration files are missing and stuff.
Can someone give me step-by-step instructions for installing APT-RPM and
making it work?
And also, the patches provided for synaptic don't really work anymore, can
someone produce new patches for the latest version (i got apt-rpm from git
and synaptic from bzr)?
This would help a LOT.
