When I try autoreconf, I get this:

	FATAL ERROR: Autoconf version 2.59 or higher is required for this script

So I'm currently exporting the env variables and using the patch I send 
you. BTW with that patch configure does fail when the environment 
variables are not set and pkg-config is too old.
